LOCUST, N.C. — The City of Locust has canceled its Movie Night scheduled for tonight, Oct. 17, citing wet ground conditions and cold temperatures.
City officials said the decision was made to keep the event safe and comfortable for everyone who planned to attend. No makeup date has been set for this year.
The cancellation also ends this year's Movie Night Series. The city said the weather has been a problem throughout the season. Movie Night is expected to return in Spring 2027.
Locust thanked the sponsors and food truck vendors who took part in the series this year. The city also thanked residents for their continued support and understanding.
Residents who were planning to go tonight should make other plans. Anyone with questions about the series or the spring return can contact the City of Locust.
