These terms govern your use of cabarrusinsider.com and related services operated by Cabarrus Insider, a North Carolina business. By using the site you agree to them.
Not an emergency service; not official
Cabarrus Insider is an independent news service. We are not affiliated with any government agency, public safety department, school system or utility. Do not rely on us for emergency information or instructions. In an emergency, call 911 and follow official sources.
Accuracy
Many posts are generated automatically from public radio traffic and public data feeds. Scanner-based posts are unconfirmed and may be incomplete or wrong. Content is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We correct errors as described in our corrections policy.
Arrest reports and removal requests
Arrest posts are based only on official law enforcement news releases. Charges are accusations; everyone is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. We do not publish mugshots or use jail booking lists. If charges were dismissed, the person was acquitted, or the record was expunged, the person may request an update or removal. We review every request and may update the post with a dated note or remove it. We never charge a fee to remove or update any post, and we never accept payment in exchange for removing content.
Photos you send us
When you send a photo, you confirm that you took it and give Cabarrus Insider permission to publish it on our website and social media channels, with credit to the name you provide. We review every photo before publishing and may decline or remove any photo. We remove location data from photos. Never put yourself or others in danger to take a photo.
Paid services
Text alerts are a $2.99/month subscription governed by our SMS terms and refund policy. Alerts may be delayed or not delivered; the service is not guaranteed.
Acceptable use
- Don't submit false tips, harass anyone, or submit content you don't have the right to share.
- Don't scrape the site at a volume that disrupts it, or attempt to interfere with its operation.
Content ownership
Our text, data compilations and design are owned by Cabarrus Insider. You may share links and short excerpts with attribution. Underlying public records remain public.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cabarrus Insider and its owners are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or services, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
